Tatis' suspension, which MLB announced on Friday, took effect right away, preventing the All-Star shortstop from participating in this season's major league games

Tatis stated in a statement that he is not challenging the ban because the adverse test result was the result of his "mistake."

In a statement, Tatis said, "I want to sincerely apologise for my error to Peter [Seidler], AJ [Preller], the entire Padres organisation, my teammates, Major League Baseball, and baseball fans everywhere.

Due to a broken left wrist sustained in a motorbike accident that necessitated surgery, Tatis missed the first four months of the season and was on a minor league rehab assignment.

Padres general manager Preller referred to the ban as "extremely disappointed" and stated that the team had hoped to see more maturity from their young star.

The major leaguers who have been previously suspended for taking Clostebol include Freddy Galvis and Dee Gordon.
Clostebol is an anabolic steroid that has use in dermatology and ophthalmology. The World Anti-Doping Agency also has also declared it illegal.
