Twitter hires top legal firm to sue Elon Musk

As a result of Elon Musk's decision to cancel the $44 billion deal, Twitter is contemplating legal action against him.

According to reports, Twitter has hired Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz LLP and will file its case in Delaware the following week.

The legal team Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan is representing Musk.

Twitter Chairman Bret Taylor declared, "The Twitter board is committed to finalising the acquisition on the price and terms agreed upon with Musk, and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement.

Musk announced that he will withdraw his $44 billion bid to purchase Twitter after discovering that the company had not provided sufficient details on the amount of fraudulent accounts.

The CEO team at Tesla said in a letter that the percentage of spam and false accounts is "wildly greater" than 5%.

According to a CNN, Musk said in a letter to Twitter's legal chief, Vijaya Gadde, that the company is "actively fighting and blocking his information rights" as stated in the agreement.
